Around 2005, I was beginning to contemplate going from painting in purely watercolors to oil paint. When I moved into an apartment in Costa Mesa, I looked in the closet and found a canvas, an easel, some paints and paintbrushes. I had not told my family that I had moved into the new place yet, so I was wondering if someone had gifted me this, and made a few phone calls, only to find that no one knew anything about it. I was dumbfounded, and it felt as if the Great Creator was looking after me and my creativity. This is the first painting I did with that new set, it was partly in the studio, primarily on location in Laguna Beach.
